Yellow Pond Lily

Nuphar lutea

Location: Woodland Trail
In Bloom: May through October
Yellow pond lily, also known as cow lily, is in the same family as its bright cousin, Nymphaea, but its waxy, ballshaped, canary-yellow flowers are unique to the Nuphar lutea species. Its elongated, heart-shaped, army-green lily pads add to the spectacle that can be found in the Lily Pond along the Woodland Trail at Glenstone. Yellow pond lily is native to North America and blooms from early May to late October.
