Water Iris

Iris

Location: Gallery, Woodland Trail, Pavilions Watercourt, Arrival Hall
In Bloom: May
Glenstone is home to many varieties of iris that thrive in and along our wet areas. Louisiana irises such as ‘Dixie Deb’, ‘Her Highness’, and ‘Eolian’, along with Japanese iris varieties, can be found on the bank of the Gallery Pond. Visitors will also see irises growing along the Woodland Trail, the Greenbriar Branch stream, and the gully under the Arrival Hall bridge. ‘Count Pulaski’ brightens up the Water Court with red in the spring and is softened by thousands of blue flag irises. The show of irises at Glenstone is vibrant but brief, with a peak blooming season in late May.
