Dan Graham was a true polymath—an artist, writer, educator, gallerist, critic, curator, and filmmaker, among other things. His artwork reflects these multifaceted talents. Best known for building pavilion-like structures that combine glass, steel, and mirrors, Graham was deeply interested in how we see ourselves and how we see each other in relation to the built environment. Graham had the rare ability to make audiences simultaneously unsettled and curious, positioning spectacle as approachable.
